after gathering most of my Peru pictures, i have 333 pictures to post. yes… its going to be a long process but it must be done. i have completed one of the 12 gallery pages already. if i pace myself to do at least two pages a day i should be done by the end of next week. i hope i won’t get too distracted on other things because i really want to get this done. i also have to take pictures of my new car. so if it doesn’t rain, i might sneak in those pictures too.

burning, burning, burning. today i was burning DVDs all day. not the video kind mind you. just a simple photo collection of individuals who wanted to share their digital pictures with everybody. assuming that most people wouldn’t use the highest quality setting or not take an overabundance of shots, i brought a spindle of 100 CDs with me to Peru. well my assumption was wrong. some people used the high quality setting and i was surprised that many people took a lot a pictures… i mean A LOT of pictures. after the initial upload of memory cards i had over 4000 pictures and the space was slightly over 5 GB! so i started deleting shots that were blurry or just didn’t make sense. so today was the day a was burning. i should have test burned some DVDs at home with my laptop. it was only when i started burning that it was burning at 2x which basically means 2 DVDs per hour. i had hoped to finish the order and join the crew out on the site but that wasn’t going to happen. i was stuck in my room all day. argh! i was only able to fill the order partially and will have to mail out the rest when i get home to complete the burning. today, the group was split into two. one group went into Lima for a little sightseeing and a lot of shopping. the other group stayed behind to work on the site. tomorrow, the groups will switch places. i went with the group to Lima today. the first place we were at appeared to be where the goverment buildings are… like a town square of sorts. we only had about an hour at this place so we started walking around and found out that there was this church with catacombs below it. when we got there we only had about a half hour left and my uncle needed to get to a bank. some stayed for the catacomb tour while my uncle and his family and my dad and i took off to the bank. when we got to the bank and took a number, we soon found out that the wait time was ridiculously long so we left the bank and headed back to the “square” where we begin. we had a few minutes to spare and quickly took some photos of ourselves and regrouped where we were supposed to meet. we finally got an off-day today and went white water rafting which took about three and a half hours to get there. for those who didn’t want to raft, there was a hotel by the river where they can hang out at the pool and when the time came can see the rafters pass by. the hotel was also the place where we had lunch. i was one of those who took the white water rafting adventure and had a great time. in my raft, i sat upfront which bore most of the water splashes. heck… regardless of where people sat, everybody got wet. but everybody had fun!
