A Picture Is Worth a Thousand…

today was the last day of VBS. how sad. yet how liberating. i think i can do with not singing “Tengo paz como un rio” for a while. other than my initial sentiments, the children amazed me again. Sonia quizzed the kids about the health talks. if any kid remembered all the health topics from day one, then they would receive a prize. though i had a hard time recalling the topics quite a few of them remembered which was quite impressive. during the afternoon session, one of the pastors had us all stand on stage as he gave a short thank-you to the VBS team and after prayer we received a small token of appreciation in a form of a Peruvian whistle. i thought it was very cool. I Became Popular, I Kid You Not

it was another day at VBS. for those of you who know me, i’m not into kids. its not that i don’t like kids, i just have to work really hard to relate to them so most of the time i don’t bother. but the fact that i’m not into kids, doesn’t mean kids aren’t into me. well… i won’t go that far. but today, the kids seemed to want to interact with me besides singing to my guitar playing. a young girl saw me taking pictures and wanted me to take a picture of her with a few friends. then a few friends became a bunch of friends. a bunch turned into a group. then a lady wanted me to take a picture of her and her family which drew the group of friends over who wanted to be in the same shot. thankfully, Sonia called for VBS to close with prayer which settled the growing number of camera loving kids.
