Singing, Nominating Committee, Pathfinders, Ethiopia

although my day was spent primarily indoors yesterday, i had a very blessed Sabbath day. since i was going to be out of town during my chorister Sabbath (Memorial Weekend) i switched my weekend with another chorister and led out yesterday which was the string ensemble’s weekend as accompanists. it was exhilirating leading out with the strings as well as with my co-chorister since we’re not on the same Sabbath rotation.

my Sun-dried Tomato Pesto with Penne was another hit at potluck and after that i had the opporunity for the first time to chair the nominating committee. since the elected chair will be out of town for the next couple of meetings i was the next favorite choice of the committee.

after the Committee meeting, the Pathfinders wanted to meet with me to discuss some outreach projects. the Pathfinders had about 20min left in their session so i took a drive around the neighborhood trying to find an unsecured wireless network to log into with no success. the neighborhood is quite secure and i’m impressed. after hearing about the church in Peru that needs help to complete their building, the Pathfinders gave me some dates when they will be willing to do a carwash and spaghetti-feed as fundraisers as well as can-collection. they also surprised me by letting me know that they would be interested in adopting this church on a on-going basis. woohoo! i’m excited.

in the evening, i went to San Jose Central church hear my friend Andrea who got back from a mission trip to Ethiopia give her testimony and presentation about the trip. it is very cool and exciting to see people excited about spreading God’s word to the world.

that’s how my yesterday went. it was long but it was such a blessing.
