Why Are Aliens So Fascinated With Us?

i don’t remember my dreams very often. however the most recent dream i had i still remember, so i’m going to blog it now before i forget it and the details. yesterday my mom and i flew down to southern CA. i had forgotten how hot it can get down here so after lunch i became rather sluggish and sleepy which i then gave up trying to stay awake and gave in to unconciousness by taking a four-hour nap. yes, that’s what i said. a four-hour nap. it is during this nap that this dream took place. here is the story…

i was among many people in what seemed like a park which is similiar to Central Park, NY in terms of the environment although in my dream there wasn’t a sense of where i was geographically only that i was in a park with many people. we started to notice these large aliens beings with metallic armor. the only way i can describe their features is like the robot from the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still, except they were more detailed and not robots but actual alien lifeforms. anyway, they started to gather small groups of people and teleporting them somewhere. at this point, i understood that we either let these aliens teleport us to who knows where or take the risk of staying on earth and await whatever outcome may occur. there were many people panicking and some decided to stay. i, however decided to go with the aliens. after all, i don’t remember ever having a sci-fi dream before. I So Digg This

i know i have a dishes to wash right now, but i want to get this blog out of the way because my evening is still fresh in my mind. its 11:11p and i just got back from the one year anniversary party of diggnation that was held at The Beach Chalet in San Francisco. my friend Dan Dizon, who is also a viewer of the show, went with me. this is a brief rundown of what transpired…

6:09p. we didn’t realize it, but i overshot The Beach Chalet and ended up next to The Cliff House. while we were there i took some pictures of the west side of SF.

6:30p. we backtracked two blocks and found the place. apparently, diggnation had reserved a bunch of tables for their guests, so Dan and i got a table with another diggnation viewer named Dan. after eating, we just sat and talked to kill time till the live taping began.

8:09p. the show started with Alex Albrecht videotaping the audience and then they got into their show routine. i was a little disappointed that a lot of people showed up for the show but instead of listening to the hosts of the show, they just talked amongst themselves. rude, i tell you. simply rude. but what else can one expect at an event like this?

9:21p. an anniversary party wouldn’t be a party without cake to help commemorate the milestone. and its a pretty cool cake.

Click here for larger size (1600×1200).

9:50p. it took a while for Dan and i to get a picture with Alex. and then after that we found Kevin Rose to take a picture with us and as we were setting up the shot Alex showed up. score! so here we all are. me, Alex, Kevin, and Dan.

so now i’m off to wash the dishes!

Auto Focus

Part One.
last sunday the Pathfinders from my church did a car wash to raise money for a church in Peru. i was there to help out… but as it turns out, i like taking pictures of them instead. although i didn’t get into the washing of cars, i sort of helped out at the refreshment table and waiting area. i had brought my laptop with me and set it up to run the presentation of the church we’re helping in Peru so that people can see where the money is being donated. here they are using the first few cars as a practice run.

we put some of the kids out on the street… oh wait, that doesn’t sound right… but you know i mean. haha!

shortly, a truck pulled in. i don’t remember a sign with the words “truck wash” but the kids had fun.

this was the first time this particular group of Pathfinders did a car wash and i think that they had a good time even though they all worked hard.

Part Two.
tonight, a group of my friends went out for a dinner at Tomatina and met up with more friends to see Pixar’s latest Cars. i like all of Pixar’s animated features… each differently… so my expectations were neither high or low. i just expected to enjoy this movie for what it is and i did. all those cars makes me want to drive or play Burnout on my Xbox which i have yet to put into the game console. at least its out of the shrink wrap!

There’s a Bottleneck In My Blog

okay, okay… i know i have been slacking with my blog. but that’s how it is, you know. we get busy and we either don’t have the time at the moment or maybe we just aren’t able to upload… argh! anyways, that’s how all the rather interesting things that happened to me went down the last several days.

A Tale of Two Revisits

my friends Christina and Jon arrived last light and after transferring their needed luggage and food items from their van, we drove up to San Francisco for the evening to hang out and met up with Donald, a friend of theirs from Southern who just happened to fly into SF that very day. after finding parking (which i now am a little wiser) and a good hike up a street, we found the place where we picked up Donald and his friend. a brisk walk down Stockton past Union Square and south of Market brought is to the Metreon where we chilled and grabbed a bite to eat at the Buckhorn Grill, one of the many eateries found inside. later, Donald and his friend went back, while the three of us stayed at the Metreon to see The Break-Up… which i think left a rather unsatisfying after-taste by the way it ended.

it has been about three years since i last went into the city, so it was a rather nice venture if it was only for a couple of hours. unless people live, work, or attend sports games in SF, there really isn’t any reason why someone living in the Bay Area would spend their time in traffic just to go there… well, maybe the occasional dinner in the city but that’s about it. so when friends visit, its always a great opportunity and reason to trek back up there and have a look-see.
